Funerals
The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. - Deuteronomy 33:27
On behalf of the parish of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, we extend our prayerful support upon the death of your loved one.
What Should I Do Now?
Upon the death of a loved one, begin by contacting a local funeral home to make arrangements. If you need assistance finding a funeral home, or have decided to not use a funeral home, please contact the parish office.
If the family will be using the services of a funeral home, they should contact the funeral home to set a time to meet and make the necessary arrangements for a funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist. The funeral home director will then contact the Parish Office to arrange the date and time of the funeral Mass,
(Subject to the availability of the Church/Chapel and our priest). Our office hours are Monday - Thursday, 9am-3pm, we are closed on Fridays. Funerals are held Monday - Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
Next St. John’s arranges for a bereavement minister to contact the family to help choose the readings (Old Testament, New Testament, Gospel, the Psalm, music, as well as asking the family to complete “Notes on the Decedent” to assist the Priest with notes for the Homily). The readings and music can be previewed by clicking on the links below.
Please know that we will be praying for you and will do everything possible to assist you during this difficult time.
