What a difficult time we are living in at the moment! We pray that you and your families are well and know that you join us, as a community of faith, in praying for all those on the front lines of this pandemic, all those who have been infected by the virus and those who have died because of it.
Some things you should know:
No Religious Education classes will be held for the rest of the 2019/2020 school year
First Communion has been moved by Fr. Matt to Corpus Christi weekend, June 13/14
We have not heard from the diocese if there will be a change to the Confirmation celebration
We are still working on the planning for classes for the 2020/2021 school year. Registrations were scheduled for the end of April. Since the social distancing guidelines have been extended, we are waiting to see when registration can take place. Please check your email as well as the parish website
stjohnwinfield.org for further updates.
We understand that you and your family are doing the best that you can – doing school assignments, working from home, etc. but we need our faith at this time. Please keep up with your child/ren’s Religious Education. Although weekend Masses have been suspended, Fr. Matt has posted the Mass to YouTube and it appears on the parish website. Make Sunday morning the time you work on the Gospel Weeklies or chapters in your textbooks. This is a great opportunity for families to share their faith.
Again, we hope and pray that all our St. John families are safe and well and please continue to pray for a “flattening of the curve”. Our Lord is with us even in the midst of our anxiety. Rely and trust in Him!
