Religious Education
PLEASE NOTE THAT RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAYS FOR THE 2023-2024 YEAR. THERE WILL BE NO CLASSES ON WEDNESDAYS
Religious Education is a lectionary-based program offered for children in preschool through eighth grade. Kindergarten through fifth grade will meet weekly for one hour and fifteen minutes. Sixth through eighth grade will meet bimonthly.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (for Children ages 3-6 Years): Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a hands-on approach for children to come to know and love God. It is based on the Montessori method of education which focuses on the child's developmental needs and the unique relationship between God and the child. Catechesis takes place in the "atrium" on Friday Mornings from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. and on Saturday Mornings from 9 -11:00 a.m.
First Reconciliation & First Eucharist: is a two-year program for parents and children, primarily in second grade. They come together six times during the school year to connect with one another and the parish as they prepare to receive both sacraments.
Confirmation: is a three-year preparation program that begins in sixth grade and is completed in eighth grade with the reception of Confirmation. The program consists of one parent/confirmand/sponsor meeting, three preparation meetings, and one retreat per year. In eighth grade, just prior to Confirmation, the confirmands participate in an Evening of Reflection.
Registration is generally held in the Spring for the following school term from September through April.
