PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
The people of St. John
the Baptist Catholic Parish, are called by God to encounter His Son,
Jesus Christ, in word, sacrament, service and community through a
stewardship way of life.
As a stewardship parish, God calls all of us to commit ourselves to live
as stewards. Being a steward means answering God's call to build
His kingdom on earth, work for Him and give as He gives. True commitment
is found only through a deep reflective soul searching to arrive at a
final outcome with the intention it will make our life better.
It is a challenge to live as a good Christian steward. Our society
puts constant demands on our gifts of time, talent and treasure.
God asks us to make Him our priority, to "seek
first the kingdom
of Heaven."
Our gratitude is the response of mutual commitment our church asks us to
extend. The cycle of our spiritual life comes full circle when we
can reach the point of deciding it is appropriate to respond by giving
back. Our response to God should include support of our church.
That commitment is also a commitment to God. It is a means to
enrich our spirituality and that of our parish community. We
create a vitality that encourages participation in a spiritual life
where we seek comfort from the everyday pressures imposed on us.
